Forward’s the only way to go. Enjoy what you do, we’ll be fine.

Thanks, Patris. Plenty more pieces to come. I just need to get organized, so I'm not rushing to put something together and then sacrificing quality to fulfill some nonexistent quota.

It’s what you should do. It’s necessary, and wise, taking the time to be mindful when you get the chance. It feels right, yes? That’s all you need.

WHY DOES COREY GET TO BE THE SMARTEST ONE!? 😩

Not sure how you gathered ‘smart’ from that post. But I’ll take it.

Doing what's needed for sanity's sake seems pretty smart to me. I'm not sure I manage to do the same as often as I should/could.

I'm still a paid subscriber, Corey - and unless you tell me you're not a "Substack" author anymore--I'll continue to pay forward (you and 1 other author--a pastor from England--are the only Substack authors I'll pay to read. I hope that is encouraging to you - (smile).

Thank you, Pamela! I put a lot of thought into this move. I decided I either had to hit the pause button or write meaningless pieces without much thought or care. Nobody wants to read another post that starts something like "I didn't have time to write . . . so today's post is . . ."

Oh, I wouldn’t even consider myself gone. I paused billing until I can publish more regularly, at least a few times a month. I would feel bad if I only posted two pieces in two months and still took people’s money. Just trying to be fair. I'll have something out in the next couple of weeks, I hope.

Thanks, Paul. I’m still trying to publish something that ng in the next week or so. I just felt it wasn’t right to take anybody's right now when it’s been nearly three weeks since I posted anything, and it will likely be another two and then about a month until I get something else out. I could be wrong. I could have a great writing session one morning. Ha. Yeah right.

Will we have to resubscribe?

Expand full comment
Corey Smith's avatar

Nope. Substack has a ‘pause’ button under ‘payments’ in its dashboard settings. It only stops future payments but keeps everything in place so all I have to do is click ‘pause’ when ready and payments should resume on their typical schedules, the same ones as before, I believe. For annual subscribers, I can just manually add a month or two, however long I please, that way it balances out for those who have already paid. All subscriptions remain intact, except for the twenty people who unsubscribed today. Ha!
